Dr. Fan’s research focuses on maternal and child health, especially in the areas of infant feeding and immunization. Her research program utilizes various study designs, including randomized controlled trials, observational cohorts, surveys and qualitative interviews. Her current work involves developing interventions to improve breastfeeding outcomes and understanding perceptions and attitudes toward childhood vaccination and vaccination during pregnancy.

Dr. Heidi Fan is a registered nurse and assistant professor at the College of Nursing, University of Manitoba. She received her Bachelor of Nursing, Master of Philosophy and Doctor of Philosophy degrees from the University of Hong Kong, and completed postdoctoral fellowships at the University of Hong Kong and the University of British Columbia, Okanagan.
Dr. Fan has published widely in peer-reviewed journals, contributing to research that addresses key issues in maternal and child health across diverse populations. She is dedicated to advancing nursing research and healthcare, with the goal of improving maternal and child health outcomes.
