Teaching philosophy

Stephanie Nunes' teaching philosophy is centered on the belief that students are multifaceted individuals with experiences beyond the classroom. 

She strives to create an inclusive, supportive environment where students grow both academically and professionally. She aims to emphasize connecting theory to practice and encourage students to reflect on the broader implications of their work, fostering critical thinking and compassion. 

Her goal is to help students become skilled professionals who approach their work with integrity, empathy, and a commitment to excellence.

Biography

Stephanie Nunes has a diverse professional career that encompasses clinical nursing, education and health care leadership.

Since 2014, she has been a nursing instructor at the University of Manitoba, where she contributes to the development and delivery of theory and clinical courses, with a focus on clinical practice, skills courses, and medical-surgical theory.

She remains committed to maintaining an active clinical practice to ensure that her teaching is informed by current health care practices.

Additionally, she has contributed to the nursing profession through several volunteer and leadership roles with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba, supporting regulatory, governance and professional development activities
