Are you struggling with class material, labs, assignments, practice questions or more? Come visit us in the Computer Science Help Centre staffed by senior undergraduate and graduate students with a passion for teaching.
Please make sure to read all the information on this page before attending one of the sessions.
Please note that you can self-enrol in our new course, by searching “Computer Science Help Centre Online” with the course number "CSHCO_202410" on UMLearn. We hope the course provides you with further resources.
Winter Term 2026 Hours and location
Current hours Summer 2026 (subject to change)
Please note that your session is limited to a maximum of 30 minutes at a time.
- Regular operating hours are 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
- Monday, June 15 (drop-in tutor or study hours from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.)
The Help Centre is closed from June 16 to 26, 2026 and will reopen on June 29, 2026.
Upcoming exam study sessions
The study sessions will be led by a TA or Tutor who will review key course concepts, answer questions, walk through practice coding questions, and share general tips for exam writing. Students should arrive for the start of the session and bring a notebook, pencil, and laptop if desired.
- COMP 1010: June 12 (Friday) from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. in room 438
- COMP 1012: June 12 (Friday) from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. in room 420 (the Help Centre)

The Help Centre will be closed May 18, June 22 to 26, July 1, August 3, and August 17 to September 7, 2026. Operating hours are subject to change.
Location
The Computer Science Help Centre is located at E2-420 in the Price Faculty of Engineering.
This is a drop-in tutoring support centre and a quiet study space for students enrolled in computer science courses at the University of Manitoba.

Our support
What we can help you with:
- 1000 and 2000-level courses (first and second-year courses).
- 3000 and 4000-level courses (third and fourth-year courses) at specific times noted in our hours.
- Helping you understand concepts.
- Helping you debug your code.
- Helping you understand what labs, assignments, and others are asking of you.
- Giving you extra resources and practice problems.
- Supporting you in ethically sourcing and using outside resources.
What we will not help with:
- Coding on your laptop for you.
- Giving you the solution files or answer keys.
