Sport camps

Flag Football

Ages 12-14

Coached by experienced football players, this non-contact camp builds on the fundamental skills, movements and strategies of football. Campers hone their skills with specialized drills and scrimmages, all while gaining behind-the-scenes access to Princess Auto Stadium. It is a unique opportunity for campers to develop a deeper understanding of the game and train on the home turf of the Bisons.

Rec Volleyball

Ages 12-14

Specialized leaders guide campers through high-level drills, daily scrimmages, and mini-matches designed to elevate their volleyball performance. Campers practice offensive and defensive strategies while gaining insight into complex play systems and court positioning. Coaching focuses on the technical mastery of the game, including approaching, attacking, blocking, and refined serving and passing techniques in a recreational environment.

Instruction delivered by student-athletes, with mentorship and curriculum development support provided by Bisons Volleyball head coaches Ken Bentley and Arnd Ludwig.

Archery, Fencing and Racquetball

Ages 12-14

Campers explore three unique sports in a fun and safe environment designed to broaden their athletic horizons. In partnership with Sport Manitoba, participants learn sport-specific skills in archery, fencing and racquetball under the guidance of experienced instructors. Throughout the week, campers build a foundation in each discipline while developing an understanding of fair play.

Rec Basketball

Ages 12-14

Campers elevate their game under the guidance of specialized leaders in this recreational camp. Designed for players looking to refine their basketball skills in a supportive environment, the camp focuses on offensive and defensive strategies, transitional situations and advanced shooting techniques. Through technical drills and conditioning, players gain a deeper understanding of the game while applying their skills in daily scrimmages.

Instruction delivered by student-athletes, with mentorship and curriculum development support, provided by Bisons Basketball head coaches Kirby Schepp and Michele Sung

Glow in the Dark

Ages 12-14

Adventure into the dark during this week of exciting glowing games featuring our new inflatable axe throwing zone. Campers take on speed, agility and strategy challenges with Blaze Pods and LED bunkers. Throughout the week, they'll face epic team showdowns like glow in the dark dodgeball, along with returning favourites like nine square in the air, tchoukball and omnikin.

Wall Climbing III

Ages 12-14

Campers can experience new heights or refine their climbing skills as they tackle our indoor climbing walls. Focusing on fundamental techniques for new climbers and intermediate skills for experienced climbers.  Each day campers will spend one hour climbing at our 1500 square foot climbing wall, one hour of bouldering featuring our kilter board and engage in one hour of climbing based recreation activities.

Active Gamers: Level Up!

Ages 12-15

With two hours of gaming and four hours of physical activity each day, campers get the best of both worlds with immersive gaming experiences and active fun. This camp is a great way to balance screen time with exercise using the latest systems from Xbox, PlayStation, Meta, Nintendo and a new racing simulator for campers to try.

Senior Science 12+

Senior Science

Ages 12-14

See how far science can take your camper. By performing hands-on experiments following the scientific method, participants will experience firsthand what discovery looks like at the university level in our science facilities on campus. This camp covers topics in biology, chemistry, physics and more.

Becoming a Mini U Leader

Ages 14-15

Develop your skills in responsibility, behaviour management and goal setting and get a behind-the-scenes look into what it takes to be a leader on our team in this special two-week program. Participants will get hands-on training in customer service, game creation and teamwork as they work alongside a mentor to assist with leading a summer camp.

  • Hours/Day: 3 leadership development; 3 recreation
  • Weeks (two-week program): 1 and 2, 3 and 4, 5* and 6, 7 and 8
