Bannock and Bread
Bannock and Bread
Bannock, a bread often associated with Indigenous Peoples, is like many other breads. They carry stories of the land - the grains, the harvests, the hands that shape them, and the trade routes and exchanges between peoples long before they reach a table. Breads are modest foods, loved and deceptively simple. Sometimes they are relied on out of necessity, stretched to feed many; other times they are decadent showpieces or elaborate treats! Breads carry cultural character in their crust, crumb, and the foods they are paired with.
This gathering is a show, tell, and taste. An invitation to build connection across cultures.
We invite you to bring a bread from your own culture to share. It can be a family recipe, a store-bought favourite, or something with a story behind it. Every bread carries its own history, its own land, its own hands.
Everyone is welcome to join - whether you bring a bread to share or come to gather, connect and enjoy the company of others.
