Canadian Indigenous Ancestry Admission Categories
A minimum of ten admission spaces are available annually to Canadian Indigenous Ancestry applicants. These spaces are available for applicants to the Asper School of Business under Track 1, Track 2, and Direct Entry. You must select this category during application to be considered - you cannot retroactively change your application category.
Students admitted through this category are required to register as a member of Indigenous Business Education Partners for a period of one year after admission.
Canadian Indigenous Ancestry Advanced Entry
You are considered an Advanced Entry application if you have completed 24 credit hours or more of post-secondary level study. There are two admission tracks for this option.
Advanced Entry: Track 1
- Minimum AGPA (most recent 60 credit hours) of 2.00
- Minimum 'C' in each required course:

Additional Requirements
Students admitted through this category are required to register as a member of Indigenous Business Education Partners (IBEP) for a minimum of one year upon submitting their application to study at UM.
Canadian Indigenous Ancestry Direct Entry
For Indigenous high school students with any 40S-level mathematics course. This category was created to remove barriers to admission should you not have completed Pre-Calculus Mathematics 40S prior to applying to the Asper School of Business.
Manitoba high school graduation including 5 credits at the Grade 12 level in courses designated S, G or U.
A minimum average of 80% between the following courses, with no less than 70% in each:
- English 40S
- Any 40S Mathematics
- Two other 40S courses
Additional Requirements
- Students admitted through this category are required to register as a member of Indigenous Business Education Partners (IBEP) for a minimum of two years upon submitting their application to study at UM.
- Upgrade their Math to Pre-Calculus level within two years of admission. An IBEP advisor can help students with all available options.
