James is a Professional Engineer with a career focused on new product development and new product introduction. He spent 29 years at Parker Hannifin (formerly Vansco Electronics), which develops rugged, high-tech displays, controllers and sensors targeting the harsh agricultural, construction and truck & bus environments. While there, James led cross functional teams ranging from a few people to more than twenty. He worked in several areas of product development including product design, environmental testing and new product introduction. James is a firm believer in solid, engineering and project management processes that encourage high quality designs and support a learning organization. He has successfully integrated lean techniques into activities such as Design for Manufacturing and Design for Test.

As an engineer-in-residence in Biosystems Engineering James assists with the delivery of the capstone design courses in the Department of Biosystems Engineering.
