Advancing Indigenous mental health and wellbeing supports
The Office of the Vice-President (Indigenous) is engaging Indigenous students, faculty, staff and community members to inform the development of culturally grounded mental health and wellbeing supports at the University of Manitoba.
Why your voice matters
UM is working in partnership with Indigenous communities to ensure that mental health and wellbeing supports reflect lived experience, community priorities and principles of reciprocity and respect.
How we are gathering and using your input? This engagement process includes three key steps:
-
Listening and Dialogue
Participants are invited to share experiences and perspectives in supportive settings that encourage open, respectful dialogue about mental health and wellbeing at UM.
-
Review and Analysis
Input is reviewed in aggregate form to identify themes, priorities and areas where additional supports may be needed. Individual responses remain confidential.
-
Informing Action
The feedback gathered will help identify priority needs and service gaps, directly informing the development of an Indigenous mental health and wellbeing framework and guiding future service design.

There are several ways to participate in the engagement process.
Facilitated session participants will receive a $50 e-gift card (not available to UM staff and faculty).
