National Committee on Accreditation (NCA) Category
Who can apply?
Internationally trained lawyers applying for admission in this category wish to meet the educational requirements towards the practice of law in Canada. This category is ideal for students whose NCA assessments require additional coursework which cannot be completed within a micro-diploma, including in-person learning requirements, and do not wish to earn an additional credential. No Juris Doctor degree will be conferred to persons admitted in this category; only a transcript to satisfy NCA requirements will be earned.
Admission Requirements:
- A written statement indicating connection with/to the province of Manitoba;
- Current Assessment Report from the National Committee on Accreditation;
- Official transcripts from legal studies (transcripts of pre-law studies are not required), and
- Proof of English Language Proficiency, if applicable
Application Assessment:
Applications to this category are reviewed as a whole, with no particular weight attached to any one requirement. No specific number of seats are reserved for NCA applicants. Strong consideration is given to students who are enrolled in or have completed one of our micro-diplomas who must complete additional courses or in-person learning required by the NCA.
Cost of Attendance:
Tuition for courses completed as an NCA student are calculated on a per credit hour basis, plus non-instructional fees (approximately $1,700 per academic year). Tuition rates for 2025-26 are (approximately): $407.52 per credit hour (domestic rate) or $1,026.29 per credit hour (international rate).
