Biography

Cassandra has over 25 years of experience working in both the private and public industry applying her GIS skills in various fields from scientific research to construction. Currently, she is the GIS Supervisor for the Land Information Service Group in the Planning, Property & Development Department at the City of Winnipeg. She holds a master’s degree in GIS Applications from the University of Vancouver Island and a Bachelors of Arts degree with a double major in Geography and Environmental Studies from the University of Winnipeg plus an Advanced Diploma in GIS from Red River College with Honours. Cassandra was an active board member of the Manitoba GIS User Group (MGUG) for six years, two of which were as President.  Cassandra actively volunteers with Winnipeg Search and Rescue (WINSAR) providing mapping and radio communication support. Her work experience and volunteering has enabled her to maintain her GIS Professional (GISP) designation from the GIS Certification Institute.
